From the moment we are born we are yearning for connection. We cry to be held and feel the warmth of our parents arms.

We gaze into the eyes of strangers, yet to us, at that age, the idea of “stranger” does not exist. We see through that, through to the subtle energy layer that connects all beings. We see another human, like us. Segregation stems from our conditionings. The moment we start to observe those closest to us behaving in certain ways and speaking about others in certain ways, and it is there where the idea that we must live inside a certain box is formed.

During the most vital years of our life (0-4 years old), we are like sponges. Everything we observe shapes us for our future. That by no means, means we cannot break free from the conditionings we have endured. If fact it makes life all the more exciting, to rediscover who we truly are; stripped away from all the layers we have carried around with us to that very moment in time. It is liberating to peel back each layer, to experience the pain that comes with finding new (suppressed) emotions and memories, and to free ourselves of that baggage, which had become an obstacle, blocking us from our deepest, most beautiful potential.

Regardless of who we are, this proves we are capable of gathering in a communal area, sharing the same energy which is bringing warmth to our hearts. In this very moment, there is no religion, there is no race, there is no class, size, gender, intellectual level… There is only love.

May we always come back to love.

Love Tan.
